The New Music Show
July 27, 2010
YourLDSradio is committed to serving audiences and artists alike by introducing LDS listeners to the music-makers in the LDS music community. Beloved singer-songwriter Cherie Call brings a new artist into the studio each week, to talk about what's new in Mormon music. Tune in, and discover the stories that drive Latter-Day Saint artists to create the LDS songs you love, and to share their testimonies through music. You're sure to enjoy the conversation.
Cherie Call was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She's been singing since the age of three and writing her own songs since her early teens. Cherie graduated from BYU with a B.A. in Media Music and has recorded several albums of her original songs. She just recently finished recording her seventh, called "Grace". Cherie is best known for her songs that have been included on LDS Especially For Youth CD's and on the soundtracks to popular Utah based films. Cherie has played at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and she's been a finalist in the Kerrville Newfolk songwriting competition. She regularly travels all over the United States to perform, and is a regular part of "Time Out for Women," the popular convention for LDS women. She lives in Utah County with her husband and two daughters.
